Vietnam is currently among the Top 7 shipbuilding nations in the world, with nearly 100 seagoing shipyards and hundreds of supporting facilities. The country’s shipbuilding and maritime industries are now standing at the threshold of a new growth phase, driven by technological innovation and automation.

On the morning of November 19, the Vietnam International Maritime, Shipbuilding Machinery and Equipment Exhibition (VIMOX 2025) officially opened in Ho Chi Minh City.
On the morning of November 19, the Vietnam International Maritime and Shipbuilding Machinery & Equipment Exhibition (VIMOX 2025) officially opened, featuring participation from over 200 businesses from 15 countries, creating numerous opportunities for international cooperation in Vietnam’s maritime and shipbuilding industry.
This event demonstrates the growing interest of the international community in Vietnam’s maritime market. Delegations from the United States, Germany, Denmark, Singapore, South Korea, Italy, and Norway attended, alongside a comprehensive ecosystem of equipment and technology spanning engines, materials, automation, and operational and logistics services.
According to Mr. Đỗ Thành Hưng, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Shipbuilding Industry Science and Technology Association (VISIA), Vietnam’s shipbuilding industry is well-positioned to enter a new phase of development. With a coastline of 3,260 km and an exclusive economic zone exceeding 1 million km², Vietnam has significant advantages for maritime development. The industry has accumulated sufficient “volume” to establish a foundation for a qualitative transformation at this pivotal moment in its modernization process.
VIMOX 2025 not only serves as a technology showcase but also provides domestic and international businesses the opportunity to find new partners and expand their markets. This is the first time the exhibition has been held in Ho Chi Minh City, an emerging mega-city that serves as the nation’s maritime and logistics hub.
The organizers noted that this year’s exhibition features 82 international companies from sectors including materials, hydraulic equipment, industrial robots, cables, and components from Europe and Asia, further emphasizing Vietnam’s recognition as a key link in the regional maritime supply chain.
Within the exhibition, numerous global maritime equipment manufacturers showcased fuel-optimization solutions, modern ship designs, emission-reduction technologies, and automation systems—factors that are shaping global maritime trends. B2B networking activities were lively, with many businesses seeking new partners or market expansion opportunities in Vietnam.
VIMOX 2025 is not merely an exhibition but also an important step in affirming the position of Vietnam’s maritime and shipbuilding industry on the global map. With appropriate collaboration strategies and the ability to seize new opportunities, Vietnam’s shipbuilding sector has the potential to become a prominent and reputable international hub.
On the first day of the exhibition, over 2,000 visitors attended, mostly shipowners, shipyards, equipment suppliers, design institutes, and international organizations. B2B networking activities were vibrant, with many companies exploring partnerships or expanding their presence in Vietnam.
VIMOX 2025 will continue until November 21, featuring a series of in-depth seminars on maritime technology, emission-reduction solutions, modern ship design trends, and international investment cooperation.
